Choosing a Cleaning Service
Did you
know the rich and famous hire house cleaning services, not just
because they can afford it, but because it frees them up to do more
important things - like making money?
Here are four tips that will help you choose a cleaning service, no
matter what reasons you have. When you think about how busy you
are with working, travel and family matters, it only makes good sense
to have someone clean your house for you.
1. Don't leave anything to chance. Decide in advance
exactly what type of cleaning you want done and write it down.
Write down which rooms you want cleaned, what items or
furniture you want cleaned, whether you want the furniture moved or
not, any dishes cleaned, laundry service, beds made or whatever you
want done. The more specific you are the better so there will be no
misunderstandings.
2. Figure out what the service would be worth to you and
how much you can budget for each month. Know in advance the maximum
amount you are willing to pay.
Arrange for a minimum of three companies to come to your home, survey
your needs and give you a quote. Make sure each company knows they are
bidding against a competitor.
3. If you're not sure what companies to hire, then . . .
-ask for recommendations from friends and/or neighbors who use
house cleaning services.
-using the phone directory or an internet directory for your local
area
-try a pre-screening online service. Make sure the services come with
some kind of guarantee.
4. Make a list of questions you want each company to
answer. This will help you compare one company with another
one. Ask for references from each company - people you can call
to see how the company has serviced them.
Call the Better Business Bureau to see if there are any complaints
against the company you are most impressed with. When you hire
the company you want, get a signed contract that spells out clearly
what they will be doing and a time limit. It's also a good idea to
make sure that the company carries their own liability insurance and
workmen's compensation. If they do not and there is an accident, they
could sue you and your homeowner's insurance policy.
